Amid current extreme weather conditions, water resource shortages are becoming increasingly severe. The Guangxing Canal irrigation area in Xindian often faces water depletion due to drought or supply disruptions caused by dam damage from heavy rains, resulting in an unstable water supply and leaving farmers without water.

To improve the production environment for farmers and protect them from the threats of extreme weather, a small storage basin was planned. This reservoir will store irrigation water during periods of abundance and, in conjunction with the pipeline irrigation system, is expected to be effective during water shortages.
