Winter droughts harm the tea trees that tea farmers in Pinglin depend on, severely affecting their livelihood. To address this, the Liugong Management Office, in collaboration with the Pinglin District Farmers’ Association, implemented pipeline irrigation projects in 1995, establishing the Irrigation Demonstration Area of Ping-lin Tea Garden.

The demonstration area covers about 10 hectares of tea plantations on the left slope of the confluence of the Beishi River and Daiyuku River. Sprinkler irrigation facilities were installed to promote irrigation technology and establish a correct understanding of pipeline irrigation among farmers. Furthermore, the Irrigation Demonstration Area of Ping-lin Tea Garden serves as a catalyst for encouraging farmers in other regions to adopt pipeline irrigation facilities, thereby enhancing the efficiency of agricultural water use for irrigation.
