Mainly responsible for the management of crop irrigation water and the maintenance of canal facilities in Xindian District, and the land management of the Xindian irrigation area operation fund.
There are four irrigation canals: Wantan Canal, Guangxing Canal, Tutan Canal and Dapinglin Canal.
Water is mainly diverted from canals for irrigation, while water sources for main irrigation canals come from weirs and water pumps.
At present, the main long-term crop in this irrigation area is bamboo shoots, which account for about half of the total cultivated area, followed by such short-term crops as leafy vegetables, flowers and fruit trees.
